About the Author

Shelby Lock is an audio engineer, producer, pianist, composer, and the owner of Silver Moon Sound—a boutique recording studio in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains that specializes in acoustic and classical music. As an engineer, Shelby has worked with GRAMMY® winners and nominees, critically acclaimed classical soloists, and countless up-and-coming artists across her 250+ commercial recording credits.

As a conservatory-trained composer, Shelby also writes music that uplifts, inspires, and transports listeners to another time and place. Her composition accolades include a 2022 Kennedy Center premiere of her piano piece “A Matter of Time,” three-time Finalist in The American Prize in Composition, and Grand Prize in the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2016 Composition Competition with her orchestra composition "Out of Ashes."
